Morpheus 8: Why You Want an Expert to Administer This Amazing Treatment
There are many ways to make your skin more youthful, but few have the power of Morpheus 8, an amazing advancement for microneedling treatments.
At LA Skincare Center, founder and nurse practitioner Raisa Howard and her team offer the Morpheus 8 platform for their patients in Santa Monica, Venice, and Manhattan Beach, California. The marriage of two technologies — microneedling and radiofrequency energy — allows it to surpass expectations and give you taut, younger-looking skin. It’s the only full-body fractional aesthetic device for subdermal adipose remodeling, making it an essential part of your aesthetic journey.
Supporting structure
Through your teen years, you had smooth, firm skin. That’s due primarily to two proteins– collagen and elastin–that form a strong foundation on which the skin can rest.
Unfortunately, though, by the time you reach 25, your body starts decreasing production of these proteins. Whatever stores remain may be further depleted because of environmental damage, including from the sun’s UV light, tobacco smoke, and a variety of pollutants.
The end result is you lose volume in your face and hands, developing hollows, fine lines, and wrinkles. These wrinkles are called “static” wrinkles because they’re always present, even when your face is completely at rest.
At the same time, you also develop “dynamic” wrinkles, which result from repeated facial expressions. Any time you make an expression, the muscles that create them contract, tugging on the skin above them. Without enough elastin to rebound quickly, a furrow forms over the muscles.
When your wrinkles are in the early stages, dermal fillers like JuvédermⓇ can temporarily address your static wrinkles, while Botox® and Xeomin®, neurotoxins that prevent muscle contractions, can temporarily address your dynamic ones. As the wrinkles become more entrenched, though, you need something more.
The miracle of microneedling
Microneedling, sometimes called “collagen induction therapy,” uses rows of tiny needles to puncture your skin, creating micro-injuries. Your body responds in two ways:
- Rushes healing factors to the area to repair the wounds
- Jumpstarts collagen production to provide needed support for the skin, fill in furrows, and replace damaged layers
The result is smooth, healthy-looking skin.
How Morpheus8 differs from traditional microneedling
Morpheus8 is an intense form of microneedling. According to its manufacturer, Morpheus8 is a “minimally invasive facial and body fractional remodeling system.” Like regular microneedling systems, it uses rows of tiny needles to puncture the skin. However, unlike other systems, these needles penetrate deep into the subdermal tissue layer, to where collagen and elastin reside.
At the same time, the needles also deliver high-frequency radiofrequency energy into the wounds, accelerating the process of skin restructuring. The system is safe for use on all skin types and comes with a decreased risk of hyperpigmentation, a common side effect of resurfacing methods that use heat.
Morpheus8 also increases vascularization, bringing more nutrient-filled blood to the site to nourish the developing skin cells.
The average person needs three to five sessions for complete rejuvenation, with initial results appearing after the second session.
We recommend that you space each treatment session out by a few weeks; this allows for wound healing and for collagen and elastin supplies to reach therapeutic levels. You’ll see improvements continue for up to six months after your last treatment, as your protein levels continue to rise.
The importance of an expert aesthetician
Aesthetics is as much an art as it is a science, and it’s important to have the right person administer your Morpheus 8 treatment. They need to have an artistic eye to match their proficiency with the equipment, taking your unique features into account. That powerful combination ensures you’ll see positive results you’ll be proud to show off, rather than wanting to hide your face because the treatment was either too harsh or didn’t fit your features. At LA Skincare Center, we’re proud of our staff’s ability to deliver the kind of care you deserve.
