PRP Facial
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma, sometimes called autologous plasma, is a concentrated serum derived from your own blood. To make this serum, your blood is drawn from your arm and then spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets and other components that stimulate cell growth.
When injected, the growth factors in PRP boost your body’s natural process of cell renewal. This process is sometimes called regenerative therapy.
What is a PRP facial?
A PRP facial uses the technique of microneedling to deliver PRP to the deeper layers of your skin. Microneedling is a process in which microneedles are rolled across the face to create tiny puncture wounds.
Microneedling improves the appearance of skin on its own. When PRP is applied together with microneedling, the results are stunning — your skin will look smoother, signs of aging will diminish, and your face will glow with a youthful radiance.
What are the benefits of a PRP facial?
Because PRP stimulates the production of collagen and other proteins within skin cells, it offers many benefits, including:
- Smoothing wrinkles and fine lines
- Improving the appearance of scars, sun damage, and dark spots
- Improving your skin’s fullness and elasticity
- Brightening your overall complexion
PRP can also be injected in hair follicles to stimulate regrowth for natural hair restoration.
Am I a candidate for PRP therapy?
If you’re in generally good health, you should be a candidate for PRP treatments. Regenerative therapy might not be right for you if you have certain medical conditions that affect your blood, including:
- Hepatitis C
- Any type of blood cancer
- HIV or AIDS
If you have a cardiovascular condition that requires you to take a blood thinning medication, you’re probably not a candidate for PRP therapy.
How many treatments will I need?
Just one PRP treatment will improve signs of aging and enhance the appearance of your skin. Typically, a series of three treatments is recommended to achieve optimal cell renewal for maximum rejuvenation.
How long will my results last?
Results can last up to 18 months. Following your treatment, it could take 2-4 weeks to see the full results.
